How to flash a Teff6686 with FMDX Firmware Requirements:
- A TEFF 6686
- A PC
- A Phone pin or hair clip
- USB Type C to Type A cable
1. Connect your TEFF6686 Device to your PC using the USB Type C to Type A Cable.
2. with your pin/ hair clip press the TEFF6686 boot button found inside the headphone jack socket.
3. turn on your TEFF6686 Device while the boot button is pressed.
[Your TEFF6686 Screen will look like it is off This means that is is in BOOT MODE.]
4. remove the pin/ hair clip from the device and leave your TEFF6686 ON.
5. On your PC go to 'Device Manager'.
6. In the Device Manager Window look and click on 'PORTS (COM & LPT)' arrow.
7. Find the port of your TEFF6686 [if you are not sure what port your device is unplug the USB from the PC NOT THE TEFF and plug in back in.]
Example of port: USB-SERIAL CH340 (COM6) = COM6
8. On your PC download the FM-DX Firmware from here: download/TEF6686_ESP32_Dev_Beta.zip
9. Extract the zip file on to your desktop.
10. Double click on the 'flash' file in the extracted folder. (A CMD Window will open).
11. Enter the COM Port (Example: 6) and press ENTER.
You will now see code running in the CMD Window This is your TEFF6686 being flashed.
NOTE: Takes roughly 1 - 5 minutes to flash.
12. When you see 'Press any key to continue..' in the cmd window press the enter button.
13. Turn off your TEFF6686 Device and disconnect the USB from the device.
14. Turn on the TEFF6686. Your device should now be on the correct version to link your TEFF6686 to your FM-DX webserver.
